I had planned a trip to Vermont this coming week but I had to make the trip ahead of time, which turned to be very positive because the temperatures here have been on the warmer side. And besides the fog during the first 150 miles or so and the relentless rain pretty much the entire drive, there was no road snow or ice to deal with.
I had a chance to go out this morning and then again as the sun was setting this afternoon to shoot some pictures and the results speak to the quality of the light. During the morning the sky was still overcast and I love how the clouds blend with the snow on the ground while during the late afternoon there was nothing but a clear, cold blue sky and the sun, low in the horizon, casted a beautiful golden light over the snow and specially over the birch trees which are in abundance here. Besides the picture above which is one of my favorites of the day, here is a representative sample of my day in this beautiful place. Best, Ernesto |

We got a beautiful snowfall this week here in the Washington area. It started Wednesday night and when we woke up Thursday morning we had about 13 inches of the stuff on the ground where I live. Then a respite from the snow with a frozen mix of rain and ice, and then snow again in the evening when this photo was taken. Beautiful snow on the trees and against the light at night.
Cars were buried and they had to be un-buried and the sidewalk cleared, so a lot of snow shoveling, but that doesn’t make a good picture, considering who is shoveling! Best, Ernesto |

I had the honor – and what a thrilling gig! – to video the wedding of Saiqa and Owais yesterday. The day started at the beautiful Islamic Center in Washington DC where the happy couple made their religious vows and it ended at the Afghan Restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia, where the couple’s friends and family put on an out-of-this-world show and party. More to come later on when I get time to edit the video but now I just wanted to share a picture of the beautiful young couple as they looked right after the religious ceremony.
The Islamic Center is a beautiful place and I intend to visit again and write a bit more about it.Best, Ernesto
