I went to Vermont for a quick visit this past weekend and my son and I went for a hike along the many hiking trails in green Vermont. As we were about to turn a bend in the trail, my son spotted through the trees a moose right on the other side of the bend. I had never seen one of these animals and let me tell you, they are big, even though the one we spotted wasn’t a big one at all compared to others, according to my son.
They are not very impressed by people either! He just stood his ground and stayed there blocking the way and although they are not aggressive, I understand it is not a good idea to disturb them. So we waited for a while behind some trees and eventually it moved right in front of me, passing by about 20 feet from where I was, allowing me to take some pictures. Now I can say I have seen a moose and I have the picture to prove it.
